Matilda Scaglione, 79, a resident of the Town of New Windsor, entered into rest on November 17, 2017. Matilda was born in Campofelice di Fitalia PA, Italy, the daughter of Ciro and Phyllis Lalumia. She is predeceased by her husband Filippo Scaglione and her sister Angie Cannova.

She is survived by her children Nicolo Scaglione of New Windsor, Marianna Robinson and husband Thomas of Kalamazoo MI, Elizabeth Warren and husband Lynn of Newburgh and Patricia Tarsio and husband Anthony of Newburgh. She will be sadly missed by her loving grandchildren Michael Pang of Portage MI, Kyle Warren, Kiana Warren, Kyra Warren and Nicolette Scaglione all of the Town of Newburgh.

Matilda was a true immigrant, emigrated here to Newburgh, NY, one of many Italian immigrants who contributed greatly to a country that she embraced and loved. She was a talented seamstress and worked effortlessly in the factories that made Newburgh a one time great city. She was an incredible cook and mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She opened her kitchen and home every weekend to her family and friends. She was a woman of strength and courage and will be missed by those that have ever had the pleasure of sitting at her kitchen table.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Monday, November 20 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, November 21 at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, with entombment following in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
