Marliyn R. Hankin, 83 of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born on March 20, 1934 in Haverhill, Ma. to the late Samuel and Rose Karelitz Rosenzweig. She married Robert Hankin on November 21, 1959 in Medford, Ma. who survives at home.
A homemaker, Marilyn was an active member of Temple Beth-El serving as a member of the Board, Sisterhood and O.R.T. as well as past President of the Jewish Community Center.
In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by sons Steven and Amy Hankin of Plano, Texas, Bradley Hankin of Hopkinton, Ma., daughter Dara and Bob Brenner of Atlanta, Ga. and grandchildren Alex, Kyra, Michael, Raya, Jeffrey, Sam and Jaron.
There are no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held at Temple Beth-El, 118 Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ.
