Local Teens Writing Thank You Notes

We love to share stories like these.

In a time of struggle or challenge. like we are all dealing with nowadays, I am the type of person that always looks for inspiration from people around me and sometimes inspiration comes from the least likely places.

Who would have thought that the inspiration I was looking for would come from a teenage senior from Hopewell Junction? Definitely not me, which is why I needed to share this story with you guys.

We got an email from Iseabailla, who is a student at John Jay High School in East Fishkill. She was looking to talk to us about something special that her and her friends are doing during the coronavirus outbreak.

She wrote, "Hello !!! How are you all?!?!

I hope that you are all doing well during this crazy time!! My name is Iseabailla Hewitt, and I am a Senior at John Jay High School! Me and my friends have organized a project in which we have people write thank you notes for the nurses, doctors, first responders, etc. that are working hard against the corona virus and risking their lives to keep us safe. So far we have received 370 notes with over 20,000 words of thanks for our front line fighters against this illness, but our goal is 1,000 messages!!!! I was wondering if you would be able to help use share this message with others to see if they will also send in notes.

Once we reach 1,000 messages, we plan to send this packet to all our local hospitals, and possibly even hospitals not so locally. We have already established connections at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Putnam Hospital, Danbury Hospital, and a few others so that we can get these messages to as many people as possible!!!!
