Hurricane Dorian had an impact on not only people but animals as well. However, it seems that hard times bring everyone together to join in, help out and share love. A local animal rescue, Pets Alive has teamed up with Brandywine Valley SPCA and Best Friends Animal Society in which their mission is to save animals.

On Wednesday Sept 4, members from Pets Alive headed to Brandywine Valley SPCA located in Delaware. The Pets Alive staff transported dogs back to their animal rescue in Middletown. These pups came from shelters from the Outer Banks, Hilton Head, along with Jasper Animal Rescue Mission located in South Carolina. The staff members from Pets Alive said that the long trip was rewarding for the safety of the furry friends.

Luckily, the ASPCA disaster response team also worked with Wings of Rescue who assisted in air transports. Best Friends Animal Society did land transports for these fur babies. Overall, they safely transported about 400 animals from southern shelters! They were then brought to Brandywine Valley SPCA in which Pets Alive was able to rescue and bring them to Middletown. Can we get an AMEN!?

Pets Alive is asking for donations for the rescued dogs vet visits along with the necessary vaccinations, proper medical attention, neuter/spray along with microchips.
