Josephine “Josie” M. Tompos, 94, of Lake Luzerne, NY and formerly of Newburgh and the Bronx, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Carmine and Anna (Heim) Falco, she was born December 28, 1922 in the Bronx, NY. She was married to the late William Tompos, whom she married on October 26, 1946 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in the Bronx.

Josie devoted her life to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Lopez and husband Joe of Lake Luzerne, NY; sister-in-law Irene King of New Windsor; grandchildren: Sandra Lopez, Duane Lopez and Beth Lopez Whalen; five great grandchildren: Kyle Lopez, Rebecca Lopez, Anthony Iuzzini, William Whalen V and Ryan Whalen; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Anton and Barbara Tompos, one sister Madeline Decico, and three brothers, Anthony, Carmine and Phillip Falco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, October 10 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh, with burial following in St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
