A woman who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol caused a crash Thursday morning on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge.

At approximately 10:27 am Thursday,  Troopers were dispatched to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge for a two-car collision.

Police determined from edvidence at the scene that Nancy Southard, age 56, of Rhinebeck crossed over the double yellow line, and struck the victim's vehicle.

Southard was in need of medical attention and transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

Continued investigation determined that Southard was operating the vehicle while her ability was impaired by alcoholic beverages.

Southard was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the Town of Rhinebeck Justice Court and will be processed upon release from the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.
