John F. Jersey, Sr. of the Town of Newburgh, formerly of Rockland County, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was 85.

Son of the late Edward J. and Isabella J. (Forrest) Jersey, he was born on June 27, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ.

John was a retired troubleshooter in the final assembly area at the former Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in Mahwah, NJ, a member of the United Automobile Workers Union and also worked through the years with his family’s business, Krucker’s Restaurant and Grove, in Pomona, NY. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Marine Corps. John was a member of the Meadow Hill Reformed Church, and recently celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary to the love of his life, Lenore (Ulrich) Jersey.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by one son, John F. Jersey, Jr. and his wife Christine of Hidden Meadows, CA; three daughters, Debra Dukas and her husband John of Kerhonkson, Karen Duncan of Poway, CA, and Donna Waterman and her husband Kevin of New York Mills; one sister, Isabelle Avery of Tompkins Cove; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. John was predeceased by one sister, Mary B. Aaron and four brothers, Edward Jersey, Thomas Jersey, William Jersey and Robert Jersey.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at White, Venuto & Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Road (Rt. 32), Newburgh, NY.

A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home, with The Rev. Irving Rivera officiating.

Burial will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY.
