Jean F. Adams, A Lifetime Newburgh Resident, Dies at 90

Jean F. Adams, a lifetime resident of Newburgh, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. She was 90. Daughter of the late Charles and Florence Hertzman, she was born October 1, 1926 in Newburgh. She married Kenneth J. Adams on June 19, 1949 in St. Patrick’s Church, Newburgh. Ken survives at home.

Jean worked for Grand Union for 25 years and was a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital for 40 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved life and all people. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband Ken, she is survived by her daughter, Donna Adams of Beacon; her brother Ronald Hertzman of Sylva, NC; and grandchildren David and Tamar Adams. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marion Diamond and Eleanor Bouton.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 pm on Sunday, December 4 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, with a prayer service at 4:30.
