For The 69th Time Boats Return to the Wallkill River in New Paltz

It is that time of year again. It is time for a crazy group of fun-loving people to set sail on the Wallkill River in New Paltz, New York.

Get anything you think might float and join the fun on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. Once again the Wallkill River will be filled with bravely ambitious folks who want to claim the title of this year's New Paltz Regatta Winner.

New Paltz Regatta Returns to The Wallkill River this June

The 69th Annual New Paltz Regatta will step off on June 9th. The boats are to report to the New Paltz Village Hall at 12 PM to be part of a parade that steps off at 1 PM. Line Main Street watch or walk with the crowds down to the Wallkill River to see all the boats launch a paddle upstream to the finish line.

Big Change to the New Paltz Regatta for 2024

If you prefer not to watch but would rather participate it is easy to register. The big news about this year's Regatta is that starting this year there is no registration fee. Also, the Regatta committee wants you to contact them if you are having trouble getting funding for your boat-building materials. They may have people who can help.

You'll notice in this video they mention the rubber duck race which I don't believe they do anymore. YOu can see from this 2015 video that there a some very passionate people when it comes to putting together a theme for their float.

New Paltz Regatta 2017 Highlights

In 2017 Mother Nature didn't cooperate with the weather but as you see the Regatta Racers were just as enthusiastic. A Little rain will not keep them from the adventure of floating up the Wallkill.
