Nick Gasparre's Story

Nick successfully made it through treatment in 2017 and over the next six years he worked full-time, and began to experience "a fully lived life" according to one of Nick's aunts Maryanne Giordano. Sadly in July of 2023, Nick had a recurrence that was discovered right around the same time he and his wife Kellie announced they were expecting a baby girl, who was due in February 2024.

Nick began treatment and was told by doctors that he was going to need another surgery that had to happen as soon as possible. In October 2023, Nick had his second craniotomy and learned that his tumors were now astrocytoma grade 4 and had to go through another round of radiation. He also enrolled in a clinical trial for his chemotherapy. A few months later in January 2024 Nick and his wife welcomed their daughter Addie into the world who was born 4 weeks early via emergency C-section.

A few months later Nick began experiencing symptoms like aggravation, aphasia (which is when you’re unable to speak), memory, and cognitive issues leading to more doctor visits. On June 1st, Nick was admitted to the hospital to undergo tests MRIs, and CTs which revealed that he had intense swelling in his brain. Sadly things have only gotten worse over the last few months according to family members, who are now looking to help offset the financial burdens for Nick's wife and his young daughter.

How to Help Nick's Family

Family members have set up a GoFundMe to help Kellie, Nick's wife offset the required co-pays, medications, supplements, and medical assistive devices, transportation costs to and from appointments, and more. When the donation page was created it set a goal of $100,000 and has already reached over $65,000. If you would like to donate you can do it online here. There will also be an amazing event this week in Poughquag to benefit Nick's daughter Addie.
