The Dutchess County fair, just like the other county fairs, offers great rides and entertainment. They are also the home to one of the cutest fair events in New York, if you ask me. Whatever you do, don't miss the Stick Pony Rodeo.

Imagine an event that allows children to use their imagination to create excitement and competition while riding a traditional stick pony. Back by popular demand, this year's Stick Pony Rodeo will be the best one yet.

How to Register For the Stick Pony Rodeo at the Dutchess County Fair

Registration has to be in by August 20th. To register, go to dutchessfair.com or follow this link. The Stick Pony Rodeo will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in the Livestock Pavilion immediately following the parade of champions.

The Stick Pony Rodeo has free entry. It is open to girls and boys between the ages of 4 and 7. There are 3 events to compete in: Barrel Racing, Steer Roping, and Bull Riding. You are welcome to bring your stick pony if you have one; otherwise, if you don't, the fair has one you can borrow.
