Hudson Valley Lighthouse Tour Features Solar Powered Boat

There's only one fully solar-powered vessel in operation on the Hudson River and you'll find it operating out of Kingston. The Solaris will take you on a one of a kind tour of the Roundout Lighthouse which is only accessible by boat.

The 1.25-hour tour launches from the Hudson River Maritime Museum at 50 Roundout Landing. The Solaris was built by their restoration crew under the direction of Jim Kricker and it requires zero fossil fuels to operate. As part of the tour you'll learn about its history, have a chance to tour the interior of the lighthouse along with the optional climb to the tower and observation deck.

The Roundout Lighthouse is the last of three separate lighthouses that used to mark the entrance to Rondout Creek. It is now one of only seven remaining operational lighthouses along the entire Hudson River.

The Solaris seats up to 27 and is available for public tours and private charters.
