I’ve always said that we’re spoiled by the diner culture on the East Coast. Visiting any other state, they don't have the same vibe as the ones we know. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is usually served at all hours of the day. Not only do we love the wide variety of options available to us at diners but they usually have the best portions as well.

There’s also a sense of nostalgia when visiting diners on the East Coast. Some of these businesses have been open for several years, keeping their original look to them. Personally, I love the dessert options at diners. From cookies to brownies, shakes and cakes, there's something for everyone.

Besides the portions, we can get a lot of food for good prices at our local diners. I also enjoy the setting at New York state diners, it has a relaxed atmosphere that can fit a lot of people. There never seems to be a rush of when we have to leave either.

I have always enjoyed stopping by my favorite local ice cream shops and choosing a new flavor. Whether it's a hot fudge sundae, chocolate peanut butter ice cream in a cone, or an ice cream sandwich, count me in.

The Hudson Valley has strange ice cream flavors. From lemon poppyseed to thai iced tea and barn boots, there aren't any boring flavors in our area.
