Tops Supermarket Gives Employees Raises, Is Hiring
A business with multiple locations in the Hudson Valley gave employees a raise and is looking to hire for a number of positions.
Tops Friendly Markets, which has locations in New Paltz, Lagrangeville, Rhinebeck and Carmel, announced all full-time associates will receive a $1.00 per hour raise while part-time employees are getting a 50 cent per hour raise. The raise went into effect on Sunday.
"The past few weeks have been an unprecedented time in our world, and within our company. I can't thank you enough for your continued hard work and dedication in serving our customers and communities, Tops Friendly Markets Chairman and CEO Frank Curci said. "Your efforts are truly making a difference.
The pay raise will be in effect until at least April 18. At the point, store officials will decide whether to adjust the time frame.
Due to the increase in customers, Tops Friendly Markets is hiring for temporary and permanent positions. You can apply online or stop by any store. New employees will also receive the pay raise.
Last week, Price Chopper/Market 32 announced it's looking to hire over 2,000 new workers for part-time or part-time temporary positions due to the increase in demand at supermarkets during the coronavirus pandemic.
ShopRite announced it has immediate openings during this high volume time. The company said it's looking for people who were "displaced from your regular routine."
