Group Of People Jump From Car, Steal New York Man’s ‘Garbage Plate’
A man in Brockport, New York was recently robbed of his garbage plate, a staple food of Western New York.
Rochester First reports that on Sunday, September 1, 2019, around 3 a.m. that a man was walking home from Jimmy Z's Plates and Shakes in Brockport. Jimmy Z's is a restaurant in Brockport, the village where the SUNY College at Brockport is located. A car pulled up next to the man and people jumped out. However, they didn't' take his money or car keys, just his garbage plates. No one was hurt and Brockport police have confirmed there is a suspect in custody.
Jimmy Z's is known for late-night grub like burgers, hot dogs, and the most famous 5 Star Plate, which is their rendition of a garbage plate. A garbage plate is typically home fries, macaroni salad, topped with burgers and a meat sauce, onions, and mustard. They're open until 4 a.m. on weekends. You're probably wondering how I know so much about Z's and Brockport. Well, I went to college at the SUNY College at Brockport! This is my alma mater. And any Brockport student basically lived off Z's, especially after a night of drunken shenanigans.
As someone who is constantly craving/missing Jimmy Z's and garbage plates, I get this 200%. You really don't know what you'd do for a plate until you've had one. And the realness of what you'd do for a plate sets in when you don't have easy access.
