In a recent speech, Governor Andrew Cuomo said that America was never that great.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo was speaking on Wednesday, August 15, at a bill signing ceremony in New York, when he took a jab at U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign slogan, Make America Great Again.  The New York Times reports the comment was made at the end of a 20-minute speech, that primarily criticized U.S. President Trump.

After the comment, Governor Cuomo went on to say that President Trump wanted to bring America back to a time before gay marriage, women's equality, and environmental protections. According to the Times, a representative from Governor Cuomo's office released a statement saying Cuomo believes America is great, but maximum greatness is yet to be achieved.

Ironically, Governor Andrew Cuomo's 2010 New York Governor campaign slogan was 'Together, we can make New York great again.' The event in which he was speaking at concluded with a bill being signed regarding sex trafficking penalties.
