Why I Refuse to Touch Magazines in Waiting Rooms

You will never catch me reading a magazine while sitting in a waiting room.

We've all been in a doctor's office waiting room, or any other waiting room for that matter, and there's usually a pile a magazines for you ro read while you wait.

Before smartphones, all we had besides our own thoughts were these magazines. Unfortunately, I refuse to touch these pieces of reading material.

About 10 or 11 years ago, I had to accompany someone to a doctor's appointment in New York City. While they were in with the doctor, I sat in the waiting room. I was reading a magazine, when a man walked in and sat down.

After he sat down, the man took off his shoes (weird I know), and then he proceeded to take his socks off as well. He then placed his gross, sweaty socks on top of a pile of magazines.

I thought this was absolutely disgusting, and it grossed me out so bad, that I have not touched a magazine in a waiting room since.

Has anything like this ever happened to you? Or am I just crazy
