Frank J. Fetzer III passed away on May 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He is now in Heaven dancing with his beloved wife, Marie.

Frank was born on September 20, 1934 and grew up in Scarsdale. He married Marie Masciarelli, the love of his life, on November 13, 1954 at Immaculate Conception Church in Eastchester. She predeceased him in 2011. He is survived by their children and grandchildren.

Frank had many endeavors from young to old - motorcycle racing, auto racing, and boat racing which brought him into his own business, Frank’s Marina and Salvage, where he began a new venture in scuba diving. Frank was well-known for doing recovery and salvage diving missions for major insurance companies on the East Coast. After his business, he became an over-the-road truck driver/mechanic for Neptune Trucking in which he did major moving, and setting up trade and road shows for IBM Corporation. After seeing our beautiful country many times from coast-to-coast, he decided to settle back into the automotive business where he ran several major automotive and truck dealerships throughout Westchester and Dutchess Counties. He was a Past President of Ford Motor Company’s Parts and Service Counsel where he won many awards and the “Crown Ring.” Frank was also known as a master mechanic as Carter Getty’s crew chief and master engine builder while Getty was racing a Shelby 429 AC Cobra at Limerock Racetrack in the late 60’s, which was one of many Cobras owned by Carter Getty which wound up in the movie the “Gumball Rally” with Peter Fonda.

Frank was also a P/T Westchester County Sheriff in their Emergency Force for 30 years with the rank of Sergeant. His other hobbies included being an avid pilot, hunter, photographer, HAM radio operator and piano player musician.

Frank knew a lot of people over the years and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
