LAGRANGE – Edward “Christian” DeGuisto, IV, 28, died tragically on Monday, July 3, 2017 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born on April 20, 1989 at the Lyster Army Hospital at Fort Rucker, AL. A few months later, his family relocated to LaGrange, NY. In 2007, he graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie. Later that year, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and became a Helicopter Crew Chief. He served overseas during Operation Enduring Freedom and was honorably discharged from the Marines as Corporal 2012. Edward then enlisted in the Army National Guard and continued his service as an aviation specialist during the Global War on Terrorism. He was honorably discharged from service as Sergeant in 2015. Edward was enrolled at Manhattan College in the Bronx, where he was a member of the school’s Valor Club.

He enjoyed many hobbies and interests such as cars, motorcycles, horses, dogs, and firearms. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his family as well as a host of close friends.

He is survived by his mother, Kelley Drain DeGuisto of Highland; his father, Edward C. DeGuisto, III (Meg) of LaGrange; his brother, Sebastian DeGuisto; his grandparents, Carole Drain, Robert Drain, Veronica DeGuisto, & Edward C. (Linda) DeGuisto, Jr.; his great-grandmother, Eileen P. Drain; his partner, Michelle Robinson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other loving relatives & friends.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 6 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 7 at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie. Interment will be at 2p.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
