David C. Jones, a Fishkill Resident, Dies at 65

David C. Jones, 65, of the Town of Fishkill, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his home. David was born August 5, 1951 in Cornwall, New York. He is the son of the late Charles N. Jones and Margaret Yetman Jones of Cornwall. He married Pamela Laffin on November 11, 1994 in Hopewell Junction.
David was a 1969 graduate of Cornwall High School and a 1971 graduate of SUNY Delhi and a 1973 graduate of SUNY Oneonta. He was a member of Delta Theta Gamma Fraternity at Delhi and was blessed to remain friends with his fraternity brothers throughout the years.
He was a retired Senior Chemical Operator with Nepera, Inc. in Harriman. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1646 in Wappingers Falls. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls.
David is survived by his loving wife, Pam. He is also survived by his step-children, Richard Laffin and his wife, Mary of Wappingers Falls, Steven Laffin and his wife, Gina of Clinton Corners, and Mary Laffin Hernandez and her husband, Michael of Beacon. Additionally he is survived by five loving grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Hernandez, and Chaz, Timmy and Megan Laffin. Lastly, he is survived by his loving buddy and companion cat, Russell.
Family will receive friends on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
Memorial donations may be made in David's name to the Knights of Columbus, 2660 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
