If it sounds to easy to do, it is. It would cost you around $584 million to buy every combination of numbers and you would need a whole bunch of people to buy tickets around the clock to have enough time to buy all 292 million tickets. You have a 1 in 292 million chance at winning.

If you win the lump sum jackpot payment is estimated to be about $868 million, which if you do the math, would give you a profit of about $284 million.

The other downside is that if any other person picks the winning numbers and hits the jackpot and you have to split it, you go from a $284 million win to at least a $100 million loss.

If that didn't convince you that its a bad idea to do this, you only have a 22% chance of being the only winner.
