Cheryl Bartholomew, age 57, of Wallkill, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital surrounded by her family.

The daughter of the late Raymond Thomas and Irene (Jaycox) Dlugosz, Cheryl was born on May 8, 1960 in Beacon, NY.

Cheryl, a homemaker and lifelong area resident, was a volunteer with The Salvation Army. Always willing to serve, always willing help, always willing to love, she was the bond that held the family together.

In addition to her husband, Russell, at home, Cheryl is also survived by a daughter Renae (James) Morell of the Town of Newburgh; a niece, Tonia (Shawn) Cook of the Town of Newburgh; a brother, Donald Dlugosz of the Town of Newburgh. Grandchildren include Jessica, Rylee and Arianna Morell and Michael and William Cook. Cheryl was predeceased by a daughter Tasha Ann and a sister Rayann Dlugosz.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Memorial Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at The Salvation Army, 234 Van Ness Street, Newburgh, New York. A Funeral service will follow visitation at 6 pm.

Interment of cremains will take place 2 p.m., Friday, October 6th at the Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor.

If desired, monetary contributions can be made to the family which will be sent to a charity of Cheryl’s choice.
