Big Changes as Fantastic Ulster County Restaurant Announces ‘Next Chapter’
After five years of business at two different locations, a beloved Ulster County restaurant has made a big announcement about what they describe as "the next chapter".
Harana Market began in Woodstock, NY in 2020 before moving to its current home in Accord. Its innovative menu and welcoming culture soon made it a favorite destination for locals and food critics alike.
Big Changes for Harana Market in Accord, NY
Harana Market, which acted as both a Filipino restaurant and Asian grocery store, received one of the most prestigious recognitions in the culinary world in 2024: a James Beard nomination (below). As the restaurant recently shared, however, the business will not look the same moving forward.
"Next Steps" for Harana Market Includes Suspending Restaurant Operations
The first announcement came in late July, when ownership shared that Harana Market would first be transitioning to weekend-only service before stopping both restaurant and market options all together in September. More information was shared recently on their Facebook page (below).
Harana Market Transitions to Pop-Ups, Catering, and Commissary Kitchen
Just weeks into their new business landscape, Harana Market has already had their first successful pop-up event... albeit unexpectedly. After poor weather at an outdoor event left the business with leftover food, they quickly took to Facebook to invite the community back to their restaurant at 5125 Route 209 the following day.

While change is hard for any business, the ownership behind Harana Market expressed their appreciation for the love and support their business continues to receive through their transition. "This evolution is part of our commitment to keeping Harana sustainable for us as a family while remaining rooted in the things we love most: feeding people, building connections, and amplifying and uplifting our Queer, Trans, and AAPI culture", they shared.
