A farm in Central New York is offering real, colored Christmas trees this year. Will the trend make it to the Hudson Valley?

Henderberg's Christmas Tree Farm in Rome, N.Y. is offering something new this year: a real, colored Christmas tree.

They are offering the trees in seven different colors and are treated with a non-toxic colorant that won't come off. Using paint is harmful for the tree, environment, the home and pets.

The colored trees are available in: red, turquoise, pink, magenta, white, light blue, and purple. Colored trees cost an additional $30.

What do you think of this trendy new spin on the traditional Christmas tree? Would you put one in your home?

The colors look super vibrant and I believe my daughters would love a purple tree, but I'm not sure I'm feeling it.

If you're interested in a road trip, you can call to tag your colored Christmas tree at 315-533-6542. More information can be found on Henderberg's Christmas Tree Farm's website and Facebook page.

One of our sister stations in Utica, N.Y. stopped by Henderberg's farm to check out the trees for themselves. Check out the video below.
