Another Hudson Valley Macy’s Closing After Christmas
Another Macy's location in the Hudson Valley will be shutting their doors for good.
Macy's closed their first Hudson Valley location in Kingston back in 2016. Since then, the troubled retailer has shuttered more stores across the country, with many people wondering if we'd see more local closings.
This week we found out that, indeed, another Hudson Valley Macy's store would be closing their doors in 2019. According to a press release from Metropolitan Realty Associates, a 10-year lease has already been signed by a new tenant who will be taking over the 218,000 square foot store at The Shops at Nanuet.
Real Estate Weekly reports that the home decor superstore, At Home, will take over the first floor of Macy's after the department store moves out. An agreement was made so Macy's could continue to operate through the holidays. After that, the store will close and the building will be modernized and upgraded before At Home moves in.
Macy's still operates stores in Poughkeepsie, Middletown, Yonkers, White Plains, West Nyack, Yorktown Heights and two locations in Albany.
