A. Donald Santos, a Longtime Area Resident, Dies at 82
Hopewell Junction – A. Donald Santos, a local area resident for 20 years and formerly of Westchester County and Massachusetts, died at home on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was 82.
Son of the late Gertrude Flinkfeldt Danenberg, he was born on February 8, 1935 in Revere, MA. He graduated from Revere High School and then attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA. From 1956 to 1957, he served in the Air National Guard.
Donald began a long career in the communications industry first working for AT&T, and later opened his own firm as a telecommunications consultant.
He was a former member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2101 in Brewster. Donald was a pet enthusiast whose hobbies included sailing, home renovation & carpentry, and painting.
He is survived by three sons: Scott Santos (Beatriz) of Longwood, FL, David Santos (Rik Fairlie) of New York City, and Paul Santos (Kimberly) of Poughquag; his grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah Elizabeth, and Brian; his sister, Jane Whipkey of Ohio; and many other relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Danenberg.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 26 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery in Beacon.
