These grants are to improve water quality and to protect resources.

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced in a press release that $350,000 has been awarded to the Hudson River in grant money, in an effort to improve it. Specifically, the grant money is for the Hudson River Estuary watershed.

The money will be used to help the Estuary watershed better withstand flooding. With hurricane season coming up, this is definitely needed. Or, if we have another major storm with heavy rain in the Hudson Valley. The grants will also be used to protect water quality, fish wildlife habitat, and enhance natural resources.
