3 people are accused of attempting to smuggle in drugs into prisons in the Hudson Valley.

The New York State Corrections and Community Supervision contacted New York State Police at Ellenville in regards to two people who were attempting to smuggle drugs into the Ulster Correctional Facility in Napanoch.

Police say that their investigation found that 24-year-old Jennifer Rodriguez, of Manhattan and Natalie Ozuna,18, of New Haven, CT went to the jail to visit two inmates and smuggled controlled substances into the facility by hiding the drugs in their underwear.

Once Rodriguez and Ozuna entered the correctional facility they were allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of suboxone. Both were charged with promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.

In a separate incident, 32-year-old Lacieta S. Winfield, of Roosevelt is accused of entering the Sing Sing Correctional Facility to visit an inmate while in possession of marijuana, crack cocaine, and Buprenorphine Hydrocloride.

Winfield was charged with promoting prison contraband, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of marijuana, all misdemeanors.

Winfield was issued appearance tickets directing her to appear in the Town of Ossining Court on August 4.

Rodriguez and Ozuna were arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court and were remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond. Both are due in Town of Wawarsing Court on August 5.
