According to the dog walker website Rover.com, the top trending name of the year was not something like Rocky, Buddy, Daisy, or Bella. No, according to the website, the top name for dogs in New York City is Chicken.
A Rover.com spokesperson said:
When it comes to the dog name Chicken, we saw an increase in popularity nationally as well as in NYC, which could possibly be attributed to the Popeyes’ chicken sandwich fast food craze this year.
People love their chicken. The NY Post says other, less fowl-like names were popular in other part of the country. Celebrity based names like Lizzo or Beyonce seem to be popular, according to the data. Wait, would you really name your dog Beyonce?
