One of the Country’s Fastest Growing Breweries Is in Ulster
If you didn't believe the Hudson Valley was a hot spot for craft beer, the numbers can prove it now.
According to the Brewers Association, one of the 50 fastest growing craft breweries is right here in the Hudson Valley. Specifically, Ulster County. The Brewery at Bacchus, in New Paltz, is the 23rd fastest growing brewery in the United States. According to Bacchus's website, they are currently working on two beers: a sour and DIPA (Double India Pale Ale).
To be considered, breweries had to be open on or before Dec. 31, 2015. They also needed to have three years of data available. The Brewers Association did not specify what kind of data was necessary, or how this list was compiled.
Only two other New York breweries made the list: War Horse Brewing Co. in Geneva, part of Ontario and Seneca Counties, came in as the 17th fastest growing brewery. 1940's Brewing Co. in Holbrook, of Suffolk County, was ranked as the 36th fastest growing brewery.
I'm honestly surprised that more Hudson Valley breweries didn't make the list.
