Nothing says, "Fall has come to the Hudson Valley" like the smell of fresh apple cider doughnuts being prepared at an orchard or farm. Sure, one can find these delicious doughnuts at markets around the region, like Adams Fairacre Farms or Vera’s Marketplace and Garden Center, but it’s worth the trip to visit your favorite farm stand and receive a bag or box of those sugarcoated delights. (Just don’t make the rookie mistake of closing the bag or sealing the container while they’re hot — they’ll lose that crisp outer texture.)

Some orchards offer their doughnuts throughout the year, while others do so only for the season, and here are just a few of the many regional farms where you can get your fill of fresh cider doughnuts.
