Education is very important, and the state of New York shells out a lot every year to make sure our younger generations receive the best schooling. But where does the state rank when compared to to others across the country?

The personal finance website WallatHub conducted a study using certain key factors typically found in well-educated populations. Those factors include; educational attainment, school quality and achievement gaps between genders and races.

We examined those dimensions using 18 relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the “most educated.

So where are we? According to the data, New York ranked 13th. Massachusetts was 1st, Connecticut was 5th, and New Jersey 9th. Pennsylvania was 30th.
