Walter S. Klara, a Longtime Area Resident, Dies at 85
HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Walter S. Klara, 85, an area resident for over 50 years, died on March 15, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Harmarville, PA, on June 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Kulka) Klara. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. An electrical engineer at IBM East Fishkill, Mr. Klara retired in the mid 1990s after over 30 years of service.
On July 7, 1962 in Pittsburgh, PA, he married Loraine (Jesionowski) Klara, who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Robert Klara of Brooklyn; his daughter, Maria Klara and her husband Peter Behmke of Brooklyn; and many other family members and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
