Three Hudson Valley cities have gained the dubious distinction of being among the most dangerous cities in New York. And it's not just Newburgh this time. The folks over at Only In Your State compiled their list using statistics from the FBI as well as Neighborhood Scout.

Newburgh - Often listed as one of the most dangerous cities in the country, you have a 1 in 68 chance of being a victim of a violent crime. Newburgh tops the list.

Poughkeepsie - The 'Queen City' also has a very high chance of becoming a victim of a violent crime with a 1 in 105 chance. However, new mayor Rollison is taking steps to fight crime, including taking the situation into his own hands once in a while. Poughkeepsie finds itself as the third most dangerous city in New York.

Middletown - Only safer than 14% of American cities, your chance of being a victim of a violent crime is 1 in 222. Middletown just barely cracks the top 10 at number nine.
