The City of Middletown Police Say Goodbye to K9 Kilo
It was a sad day for the City of Middletown Police Department.
On Facebook the City of Middletown Police Department shared that they said goodbye to one of their retired K9s.
K9 Kilo along with his handler Officer Berman took their final walk together at the Monhagen Veterinary Hospital on Wednesday, March 18th.
From March of 2007 until June of 2015 K9 Kilo served the City of Middletown assisting in countless community demonstrations, chasing down bad guys and tracking missing children.
The City of Middletown Police Department said:
He was a loyal and dedicated partner, fiercely protective of Officer Berman, making sure that they both made it home together at the end of every shift. Despite his rough and tough exterior, he was the dog you would always find lying on his back looking for a belly scratch from all the kids at our community events.
They also add that K9 Kilo "was the only surviving member of his K9 graduating class" he is also believed to be the oldest surviving K9 in the region.
Our thoughts are with Officer Berman and the City of Middletown Police Department.
