Hundreds of Suny New Paltz students rallied on Friday, to protest the election of Donald Trump as President.

Roughly 600 to 800 SUNY New Paltz students marched through campus and into the village of New Paltz on Friday. The students had rallied together to protest the election of Donald Trump as president.

Students stood holding signs and chanting things like "Not My President," "Trump, You're Fired," and "We Reject the President Elect" among other things.

Donald Christian, President of the college issued a message to students and faculty, and acknowledged the fact that many might be experiencing different emotions due to the results of the Presidential Election results.

In the message, President Christian encouraged faculty to considering the whole life of the students in their classrooms, saying, "Check in with students, create spaces in class to acknowledge what students may be feeling, support and model respectful exchange."
