State Troopers Issue Over 1,500 Seatbelt Tickets During Campaign

The Buckle Up New York, Click it or Ticket campaign resulted in over 1,500 tickets being issued. 

State Troopers from Troop F in Middletown concluded their Buckle Up New York Campaign on June 4, 2017. The campaign started on May 22, 2017.

Troopers issued 1,569 seatbelt citations, with 228 of which were child restraint citations.

During the two week campaign, the State Police supplemented regular patrols with special seatbelt and child safety seat details, in addition to conducting safety restraint checkpoints.

Troopers issued a total of 5,475 citations, 255 of those were distracted driver citations, 65 move over citations, 1,077 speeding citations and 192 DWI citations.
