Sara L. Wexler, a retired owner of Myojo Morning Star in Asheville, NC and long-time area resident, entered into rest Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh. She was 84. 

Daughter of the late Frank and Beulah (Marsh) Hayes, she was born July 14, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Sara was married to the late Bernard Wexler. She was a member of Dai Bosatsu Zendo, Great Tree Zen Temple and the Sanction Church of Esopus, NY.

Sara was a long time Zen Buddhist to grow Peace in her personal life and experiences to learn how to share with Friends and Family.

Sara is survived by his children; Antoinette Bass and her husband, Marc of Pomona, NY and Brian Duncan of Kingston, NY; grandchildren, Serina Bass-Glenn, Jason Bass, Forrest Bass, Kailan Bass, Nerisa Duncan and Lauren Duncan; great-grandchildren, Jordyn Bass, Danae Bass, Jena Bass and Jayden Bass; nieces and nephews, Terry Pierce, J.W. Hayes, Stacia Hayes and Nancy Duncan. In addition to her parents, Frank and Beulah and her husband, Bernard, Sara was predeceased by her son, Michael Tice and daughter, Darcy Duncan-Portugal and her brother, Joseph Hayes.

Services will be held at Dai Bosatsu Zend, Livingston Manor, NY.
