The famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is moving from New York City to Orange County.

The most famous Christmas tree in the world is finding a new home in the Hudson Valley. According to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, the 2017 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is coming to Newburgh.

The lumber from the 2017 tree will be used to build a home in Newburgh for a family of 6, according to the press release. The home will be built on Johnson Street. This is the third year in a row the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has gone to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, and the fourth year total.

If you're interested in volunteering to help build the home, Habitat for Humanity is holding a volunteer building day on Wednesday, June 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The 2017 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree also came from the tri-state area. It was from State College, Pennsylvania, otherwise known as Penn State.
