Robert F. Brutting, a Former Kent Resident, Dies at 94
RALEIGH, NC - Robert F. Brutting, 94, formerly of Kent, died on February 6, 2018 at the Hillcrest Raleigh at Crabtree.
Born in Tarrytown on July 26, 1923, he was the son of Christian and Margaretha Ulrike (Rodamer) Brutting. Robert proudly served our country in the US Army, 82nd Airborne during World War II. He co-owned M&M Optical in Kent for many years. Robert and his wife Margaret were very involved in the Kent Historical Society. He enjoyed oil painting and playing cards especially bridge.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Hughes) Brutting; his son, Kevin Brutting; and his brother, Charles Brutting.
Robert is survived by his children and their spouses, Patty and Donald Beringer, Linda and Robert White, and Brian and Karen Brutting; and his daughter-in-law, Donna Brutting. He also had 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Halstead Union Cemetery.
