Richard Melvin Clark Sr, 80 of Naples, FL, beloved Husband, Father and Papa, entered into rest on Thursday, June 1, 2017. The son of the late Melvin and Margaret (Kenney) Clark, he was born March 29, 1937 in Newburgh.

Richard was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and received his BA in Accounting from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD. He proudly served our country in the US Navy, with 27 years of active duty service as a Supply Officer, receiving various honors and medals. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and a parishioner of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Whalen) Clark, whom he married on February 6, 1960 in Newburgh; his children, Karen Peck of Greensboro, NC, Kathryn Jones of Annandale, VA, Richard Clark Jr of Ravenna, OH, Kimberly Gibson of Burke, VA, and Kevin Clark of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily and Brian Peck, Sarah and William Jones, Jackson, Weston, Casey and Spencer Clark, Nicole Hernandez, Kathleen, Christopher and Elizabeth Gibson, Kyrin (Clark) Falcetti, and Brandon Clark; great-grandchildren, Caydance Clark and Adaline Falcetti; and 38 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Sarah Parmerter, John Clark, and Cole Clark.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Sunday, June 18th at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, June 19th at St Patrick’s Church, Newburgh. Burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
