Retired Hudson Valley Teacher Arrested For Possessing Child Porn

A retired Hudson Valley teacher allegedly told authorities he’s had a “long-time attraction to young male boys.” He’s now facing child porn charges.

Recently, 71-year-old Thomas Albright of Marlboro was arrested on charges for distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography.

Albright was arrested following an undercover FBI operation. According to court documents, Albright shared directories to an undercover agent that included images and videos of minors engaging in sexual activity.

On Jan. 12, Albright allegedly admitted to officials that he downloaded and collected images and videos of young boys.

A search of Albright’s computer found hundreds of images and videos of young boys, between 10 to 15 years old, engaged in sexual activity, officials say.

Also on Jan. 12, Albright agreed to a polygraph test, where he allegedly admitted he had a “long-time attraction to young male boys between the ages of 14 and 17.”

The Marlboro Central School District confirmed to Hudson Valley Post that Albright worked for the Marlboro Central School District as a teacher from September 1970 until June 2002. He continued to work for the district as a substitute teacher and lifeguard until Sept. 2016.

If convicted on all charges, Albright faces five to 20 years in prison. He would also have to register as a sex offender.
