A Sullivan County woman is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into a stolen firearm. 

Racheal Barrales, 32 of Monticello was arrested following an investigation. She has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon second-degree, and Grand Larceny fourth-degree, both felonies.

The arrest stems from an investigation into the theft of a loaded .32 caliber Walther PP handgun from a residence in the Village of Monticello.

The owner of the handgun, who is licensed to possess it, reported to Monticello police that Barrales had stolen the handgun from the residence on Tuesday.

On Wednesday evening around 7:50 pm, Monticello police received information that Barrales was in possession of the handgun and was walking on Park Avenue. in the village.

Police located Barrales and arrested her. The stolen handgun was also recovered.

Barrales was arraigned in Villagte of Monticello Justice Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail pending further court action.
