Police: Postal Service Worker Facing Felony Charges

A Putnam County postal service employee was arrested following an investigation. 

State Police along with the United States Postal Service, Office of Inspector General have announced the arrest of Joshua A. Hoffman, 32, of Brewster, NY.

Hoffman has been charged with Grand Larceny, a felony and Official Misconduct following an investigation.

On March 7th, troopers were dispatched to a Southeast business to conduct a Larceny investigation of an Apple laptop. The investigation revealed that Hoffman, a part-time U.S. Postal Service employee, entered the business and stole the laptop from the reception area.

Hoffman was arrested on March 16th. He was arraigned in the Southeast Justice Court, and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail, $5,000 bond.

He is due back in court at a later date and time.
