A New York bus driver has been convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl on his bus route.

The Washington Post reports that a bus driver in Watertown, New York has pleaded guilty to third-degree rape. Shane M. Piche, 26, received his sentence on Thursday, April 16, 2019. The sentence? No jail time.

According to the Washington Post, Piche will receive no jail time, rather 10 years probation. The judge that assigned the sentence, Jefferson County Judge James P. McClusky, also assigned him the lowest level status on the New York sex offender registry.

Let me just say, YOU'RE KIDDING. I'm not surprised, I'm disappointed once again with the way our country's criminal justice system treats criminals over victims. You know I never get political, and I don't intend to make this a habit, but this is absurd. He raped a minor. That girl was expecting to go/get home from school and instead she was raped. I'm mad and I hope you are too.
