Nicholas James Valentine passed into eternal life on Friday, April 21, 2017.

Nicholas, the son of Cynthia and Michael Valentine, passed away at home following his lifelong struggles with multiple disabilities. Nicky was born in Middletown, NY on February 24, 2002. He was 15 years old.

"Nicholas was a unique and special boy. He touched the hearts of everyone he ever met and even those he hadn't. When people think of Nick, we hope they remember the positives he brought into our lives. He was courageous in every adversity; he was patient during each of his many problems with health; he was trusting and had complete confidence in all the caring people who surrounded him. Unable to verbally communicate, Nicholas used his beautiful eyes to show us his love, wants, needs, appreciation and feelings of contentment to all who loved him. Nicholas taught us that unconditional love does heal an aching, hurting, broken heart. Just by being himself, Nicholas encouraged all of us to be a better version of ourselves. We will miss and love him forever."

Nicholas was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury/St. Joseph Parish in Cornwall on Hudson, NY and had attended Abilities First Educational Facility.

Nicholas is survived by his parents and his grandparents: Rose Wood and William Leroy, and Joseph and Judy Valentine. Nick was the cherished nephew of Aunt Jamie and Uncle Mario, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Ricky, Aunt Jeannie and her fiancee Tom O'Neil, and Aunt Paula and Uncle Joe. His loving cousins are Julianna, Kaleigh, Kristen, Ian, Noah and Joey. Nicholas had a loving extended family and many friends who supported and delighted in sharing his life. Nicholas was predeceased by his grandfather James Coursen and his great grandparents Joe and Connie Valentine and Clifford and Marie McCoy.

Visitation for Nicholas will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April, 26, 2017 at Brooks Funeral Home on Gidney Ave. in Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at St. Thomas of Canterbury/St. Joseph Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.
