Mildred Mathewson Taylor, A Lifelong Area Resident, Dies at 88

Mildred Mathewson Taylor, a longtime area resident, entered into rest on Sunday, July 17, 2016 peacefully at home. She was 88.

Born and raised in Wilmington, DE she married WWII Veteran Damon B. Taylor on November 22, 1947. Mildred spent the next six decades making a warm and loving home for her husband, children and granddaughter.

She is survived by her sons, Damon Jr. and David and his wife, Janice, both of Newburgh; granddaughter, Dana Cabrera of Astoria and cousin Elizabeth Scala of Bethel Park, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, Damon Sr., daughter, Sandra Lynn Taylor, beloved Aunt Annie Mathewson and her cousin, Roseanna VanVeen.

A private service will be held by the family at a future date.
