Marion T. Cafaro, a Wappingers Falls Resident, Dies at 94

Marion T. Cafaro, 94, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Wingate at Dutchess, Fishkill. She was born in Wappingers Falls on February 23, 1923, the daughter of Raymond and Anna Sherman Fries. On September 26, 1948, in St. Marys Church, she married Nicholas A. Cafaro, who died September 18, 2009. Marion was employed many years as a clerk in the water department for the village of Wappingers Falls. From 1943 to 1946, she served in the US Navy with the WAVES. She enjoyed spending time with her family at Schroon Lake in the Adirondacks. Survivors are her children, Patrick R. Cafaro(Christine) of Hamburg, N.J., Donna M. Sowul(Michael) of Chelsea, N.Y., and Sandra A. Bruno(Earl) of Hyde Park, N.Y., Grandchildren, Marianne, Michael(Sarah), Kevin(Morgan), Brian(Ally) Cafaro, Nicholas(Leanne), Adam Sowul, Timothy and Zachary Bruno, 4 Greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Fries and Helen Hilderbrand. The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Robinson for his many years of care, Eva Jimenez anf family who lovingly cared for her at the Manor at Woodside, and the caring staff on Boscobel at Wingate at Dutchess. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial St. Marys Cemetery.
