Mariana Susnow, a Former Fishkill Resident, Dies at 89
HILLSBORO, OR – Mariana Susnow, an Oregon resident since 2007, formerly of Fishkill, died at home on Thursday, June 8, 2017. She was 89.
Daughter of the late Maria and Augusto Fernandez, she was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on February 23, 1928.
Mariana received a degree in nursing and worked in the health care industry for many years. She retired in 2005 as a Registered Nurse at Cedars of Lebanon Medical Center in Miami, FL.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, travel, and crossword puzzles. More than anything else, she cherished being with her family.
In 1962, she married Murray E. Susnow in Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by her husband in 1983.
Survivors include her son, Dean Susnow, of Hillsboro, OR; her son, Lou Battle & his wife Carolyn of Warrenton, VA; her son, Alfonse Rosania & his wife Raquel of Sao Paolo, Brazil; her son, Emilio Rosania of Fishkill; her daughter, Deanine Susnow of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Jason Battle & his wife Annie of Seoul, Korea, Bryan Battle of Miami, FL, Brett Battle of Warrenton, VA, Danielle Loesel & her husband Drew of Viera, FL, Alex Pumo & his wife Jessica of Miami, FL, Ryan Susnow of Hillsboro, OR, Jamie Susnow of Plattsburg, and Julie Susnow of Kuttztown, PA; her great-grandchildren, Naya Battle, Lincoln Loesel, Hunter Pumo, Layla Pumo, Bailee Pumo, Mariana Rosania, and Clara Rosania.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 12 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
