Landmark Poughkeepsie Deli To Close Doors For Good

A popular Poughkeepsie deli that has been a part of the local community for more than 37 years will close down permanently in August.

Located at 49 Civic Center Plaza, Take 5 Deli has been an integral part of the fabric of the city ever since doors opened in May of 1982. Owner Michael Signorelli opened the establishment after graduation from the Culinary Institute of America in 1980. They've been offering up delicious breakfast and lunch ever since and there's still time to stop in through August 16th.

According to a post to owner Michael Signorelli's Facebook page:

To my Take 5 Deli family - On May 17th, 1982 we started a great journey together and it's with mixed emotions on August 16th, 2019 we will close for retirement. Take 5 Deli has been a staple in the downtown city of Poughkeepsie for more than three decades. Ann and I would like to thank all of our customers for your loyalty and support throughout the years.
To all our past customers that moved away but when in town always made it a point to stop back in, we thank you for remembering us. Thank you also to the young families that bring their children in to the deli and tell them this is where we came to eat when we were kids.
Last and certainly not least, thank you to my wife Ann for all of your tireless hard work and partnership that has made Take 5 Deli a posittive memory in all our lives...
